![]() Our girls love being outside, rain or shine. The pen in the back of the chicken coop is completely open, there's no roof and it gets ridiculously muddy in there during the rainy season. We add wood chips to help absorb the mess, but it doesn't take long to get back to square one. We decided to add a partial roof, one that would cover half of the area so that our Bettys have some dry area to cluck around in. Kevin built a temporary structure until summer comes. He'll rebuild the enclosure and will incorporate a roof in the design. Right now, it looks a little higgledy-piggledy, but I don't think our Bettys mind one bit. ![]()
