Cleaning up and stuff

We went to bed ultra early last night... in bed by 9 am. Like the good ol' days way back in September. I'm not sure why we were so tired, but we were, which meant we woke up bright and early. After breakfast, I cleaned the gutters. They had a green film and it was driving me crazy.

I got the ladder, bucket and sponge out and attacked that grime!

Then, I washed the siding and tiled terrace. I even washed out the hot tub. And while I was at it, I went to the front of the house and continued the process... what can I say, i was on a roll.

Unfortunately, I was too chicken to do the sides of the house because on the north side there is too little space to put a ladder up safely. It would lean almost perfectly vertical with a steep cliff below down to the river and I ain't no Spider Man. And on the south side, the ground is on an incline and it would take some careful levelling with blocks and so forth, and since Kevin was out all morning (he was out picking up new tires for our ATV), I decided it's best not to tempt Fate. Unlike Kevin, I have no fear of ladders in general... just unstable ones, specifically. I like my ladder solidly planted, thank you very much! So the north and south sides will get done some other day.

As my reward for my physical labour in the morning, I treated myself to a few hours of writing in the guesthouse. The afternoon went by very quickly... it always seems to when I'm writing.

Then, at 4 pm, Kevin and I went to meet an upholsterer for our ATV seats. Kevin has been doing his research and getting prices to replace the parts burned in the fire so we thought we should see if we could save some money getting the work done locally. We entered a house where this guy runs his car seat upholstering business in a room adjacent to his home. The place was a complete mess, but the work he does is really good... and the price, a steal! It pays to shop around, as they say. Looks like the rebuilding of our ATV is in progress. Yay!

I don't hate Mondays anymore... y'know what I mean?

Dave and Krista are a couple from the Pacific Northwest that led overwhelmingly busy lives.
As her son Hayden was graduating high school, and daughter Korynn wrapping up college, they realized it was time to slow down. Life was going far too fast . They wanted to take the time to enjoy stress free living with their eight year old son Quinn.
Having visited Hush Valley Lodge as guests in January of 2016, they decided this would be the exact change they needed.
In the pursuit of happiness, they partnered with Jo, Peter, Molly, Gary and Dan to make this dream a reality, and are currently the stewards of the magic that is Hush Valley Lodge.
