Well happy October everyone. While, up north, you are most likely enjoying the beautiful multi-colour spectrum of the autumn leaves, we are hoping to get through Costa Rica's wettest month without any major catastrophe. During the last two weeks, the rain started earlier in the day, but the nights were clear. Last night, it rained the whole night with flash of lightning and cracks of thunder. It only stopped for a few hours this morning, but at 9:30 am it started to rain again. It's not gloomy, just really, really muddy. I came back from school and Frankie, who had been following Kevin around the property, was covered in muck from head to toe. We have a basin we wash her in before letting her in the house. Today, I had to replace the filthy water three times! She wasn't happy, as the water was pretty cold. I'm usually nice enough to mix in some hot water, but since I was caught in the rain and getting wet myself, my intention was to get her clean and dry as quickly as possible. She's not talking to me right now, I think she's cranky because not only did I spoil all her fun, but I also punished her with such cold water (I wasn't punishing her, but I'm sure it felt that way to her). I'll have to find a way to get back into her good graces... hmm, I am the keeper of her treats.
