![]() Adriana and Roberto's little 'round' house. We just got back from visiting our new friends and neighbours Adriana and Roberto, who live just up the road from the one-room school. They live in a dome shaped house in a pastural setting with spectacular views. Roberto gave us a tour of his property. We met his brother, Tomas, who was milking a cow. We noticed a wide-eyed calf and they told us that she was born yesterday. Only a day old. Wow! They asked us to name her so Kevin called her Beauty, because that's exactly what she is. Then Roberto showed us the cheese house where they make all kinds of different cheese. Very interesting. And then he had us taste test his smoked trout. What a treat that was! Absolutely delicious. We'll have to learn how to smoke our trout. We walked down to their ponds and had a look at their mother's garden. Tomas grabbed a bunch of kale seeds and handed them to me, to plant in our garden. Nice! Then said goodbye to Tomas and went back to Roberto's house and had some tea, coffee and a snack of melted cheese on bread. We chatted for a few hours and have now just come home. As we were walking toward the house, we noticed all the brilliant stars. It's so dark here at night that they seem much brighter than in Burlington. Since it's rained every night since we've arrived, this was our first opportunity to experience a clear night sky. I felt like a child seeing stars for the first time.
