First day (Part 1)

Still no internet.

We woke up at 5 am (7 am our time). The nighttime here is sheer darkness - and when the black sky lightened up, we woke up. The overnight temperature dropped and the air was quite cool. The best way I can describe it is what camping feels like in September in Canada. Shorts and t-shirt weather in the daytime and then when the sun goes down, it can get quite chilly. When you wake up and get out of your sleeping bag, you're quick to get dressed, but as the sun shines and the morning temperature rises, you feel hot again. Well, that's what it's like here in the mountains. A perpetual cycle of warm days and cool nights. And we're okay with that.
