![]() Last Sunday we received a phone call from our last guest who stayed with us, Sheila. She and her husband live in San Jose. She was very concerned for us because she had read in the Tico Times that a bridge in Rio Blanco had been destroyed. She was checking up on us (so sweet!). We hadn't heard of any bridges falling down. Then a few days ago, we were told that the foundation under the bridge less than 1/2 kilometre away was crumbling and could not be driven over (not exactly destroyed, but still dangerous). This is a bridge we use often on our way to La Trinidad. In fact, we're going to San Jose tomorrow, but we'll have to go around through La Cima, which is a slight nuisance, but oh well. Costa Rica, baby. Today, the men in the community were fixing the bridge. The reconstruction should be completed in a few days. Yay!
