A year ago today, we arrived with our luggage and Frankie. We had said all our goodbyes the day before and we were feeling a thousand different emotions. We were sad and happy... relieved and scared all at the same time. I can honestly say that Kevin and I are amazed at how fast this year has gone by, yet, we feel as though we've been permanent fixtures in our little community for some time... we've made so many good friends (Ticos and Expats). We've learned about living simply, how nature doesn't always co-operate, how to bounce back from unexpected trials (the earthquake creating a mud slide and the fire in the carport come to mind)... how to host and cook for our guests (tweaking along the way as we find new ways to do things better)... we have enjoyed sharing our little piece of paradise with family members who have come to visit, old friends and new friends. We've grown as individuals and as a couple. This last year has been an amazing experience and we look forward to seeing what our second year brings. Hope you keep coming back to read what we're up to.
