Kevin and I worked in the garden all morning, preparing the bed for our new spuds. Although I'm happy to give Kevin credit for all the heavy lifting, today, we shared the load... no pictures of me to prove this statement because I was taking pictures.... cleary! We've been told more than once that it's pretty much impossible to grow potatoes organically... but, we are bound and determined to give it our best try. We turned over a large area that was not being used, we dug up all the grubs (and fed them to the Bettys), dug trenches, added some ash and some compost on top. Now we wait. We got the seed potatoes from a friend of a friend for free! So this cost us nothing except hard work.
