Remember last week, when we had four unwanted cows on our property? Well, we discovered they left us some 'gold nuggets'... and you know how much I love 'gold nuggets', right? Kevin suggested when I collect the manure – there were 5 nuggets – that instead of just dumping it into the compost as I was about to do, that I could dilute it in water to create, as our good friend Paul would say, 'liquid gold'. So, that's exactly what I did. I now have a big bucket full of this potent magical plant food. I felt quite giddy about it, too. As I was watering the vegetables, I imagined the plants growing big and strong right before my eyes just like in the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. Disappointingly, that didn't happen, but I do believe it will help the growing process albeit maybe a little slower than the fairytale.
