Really? Seriously?

I came home from school at 10 am as I needed to start the laundry while there was still some sunshine left. Kevin wanted us to show Nacho around the property to show him where we'd like to have fences put in. I agreed and Frankie followed us around. There are a few areas that, if not careful, someone could get too close to the edge and fall down a rather steep cliff. We probably wouldn't bother if it was just us walking around on the property, but since we plan to have guests stay and they may want to explore on their own, we think it's best to take proper precautions so no one gets hurt. Safety first, right? Anyway, after identifying the specific fence spots, we ended up at the area where our obscured waterfall is and we all sat down on rocks for awhile hashing out some ideas of how to clear this area and still keep it natural. I eventually left the boys and Frankie as I needed to finish the laundry before going back to the school and drive Catalina (the English teacher) back to Copey. While I was hanging the clothes up on the line to dry, I later found out Nacho was showing Kevin the opening of a trail that follows the river (complete opposite side of the other trail I was blazing the other week - it's nice to know we have more than one!) Kevin and Nacho started walking back to the house and looked around and Frankie was gone. Kevin called out to her and whistled, then again louder... but nothing. Really? Seriously? From the house, I could hear his extra loud whistling so I knew something was up. Kevin decided to go back to the trail and he followed it down for awhile, wondering if she had decided to explore the trail on her own. He heard the jingling of her name tag on her collar, but couldn't see her anywhere. She's well camouflaged with her tan coat. He kept calling her, hoping she would follow his voice. After several minutes, he spotted her within the thick brush and fallen trees, looking a little sheepish. He reached her and carried our very muddy puppy back home. I bathed her in warm water, dried her, and brought her inside. Enough adventure for one day! Not sure Kevin's heart can take it :) Now, a few hours later, as we cuddle up on the couch ready to watch 'Horrible Bosses" on Kevin's laptop, Frankie cozies up between us without a care in the world. Pura vida, baby!

Dave and Krista are a couple from the Pacific Northwest that led overwhelmingly busy lives.
As her son Hayden was graduating high school, and daughter Korynn wrapping up college, they realized it was time to slow down. Life was going far too fast . They wanted to take the time to enjoy stress free living with their eight year old son Quinn.
Having visited Hush Valley Lodge as guests in January of 2016, they decided this would be the exact change they needed.
In the pursuit of happiness, they partnered with Jo, Peter, Molly, Gary and Dan to make this dream a reality, and are currently the stewards of the magic that is Hush Valley Lodge.
