![]() The fundraising Fun Day last month raised enough money to buy some tables and chairs for the community centre. Kevin and I went to San Jose a few weeks ago to shop around and compare prices. The tables are incredibly expensive for what you get. They're not as long as we want them and wider... so there was a lot of compromise. Kevin figured we could save a lot of money (more than 50%) if he made the tables himself. So he and our friend, Albarito, went shopping and bought all the steel that is required to make 6 table frames. ![]() Kevin, master of his tools, is never happier than when he's making something. Look at those sparks fly! ![]() This was just the beginning. In the end, Kevin cut 126 pieces - 21 per table. ![]() Albarito helped with the welding... these tables will look great and will be better built than any that we could buy. Well done, boys! Once they're all done, I'll post more pictures. These things take time, y'know.
