As we rode out of the little village, the road went up again. The clouds were rolling in and the air was getting a bit cooler. A few kilometres later, it started to rain. We finally reached the intersection getting us onto the Pan American Highway, where we had to drive about 7 kms to La Trinidad. It started to sleet, and the temperature dropped considerably. I was sitting on my hands to keep them warm while keeping my head down to avoid the stinging of the cold rain. Kevin wasn't so lucky, he was driving and had to keep his eyes open. Well, I'm hoping he was keeping them open - I dared not ask. I could feel the rain filling up in my boots and the water that was dripping off Kevin's back was trickling down onto my seat. You can imagine how comfortable that was! Even with our waterproof jackets, we were soaked to the bone. When we got home, we stood outside at the back of the house, peeled off our drenched clothes and smiled. The adventure continues... daily.
