My very good friend, Alise, arrived from Canada for a one-week visit. We have known each other for 45 years!!! It's one of those friendships where long periods of time will go by in between visits, but we're able to pick up where we left off. It's an amazing thing. We've been so busy chatting and catching up that I completely lost track of time and forgot to write my Sunday post. I've been having fun and we're trying to make every moment count because she's leaving this Wednesday. In other news, yesterday a bird flew into the house and Kevin rescued it. It was pretty stunned from banging into the window, so Kevin coddled her for awhile... she seemed pretty comfortable and was in no hurry to fly away. At one point, Kevin gave her a little encouragement, but the bird landed on his finger and wouldn't fly away. Several minutes went by and still the bird stayed perched. I had never seen a wild bird react this way.
We believe she is a warbler of some kind. Sweet little thing.
