![]() This morning, Kevin and I did a little fishing. We needed to catch 16 trout for Roberto to smoke and sell to his clients in San Jose. We tried catching them with a net, but that didn't work as well as we'd hoped so we decided to use our old standby line and hook. That worked much better. Kevin did the fishing and I was his sidekick with the net. We caught 16, which translates to 17 kilograms... It's not much, but it's a start. And Roberto seems very happy with the size and colour of our bunch. They are really quite beautiful. And while I I was cleaning the fish, I took care to remove any eggs. I washed them and salted them. I have a jar of the caviar to Roberto so that he can check it out and let me know if it's acceptable. He said he will show to someone who knows and get back to me. I can't say I really understand the fascination with this 'delicacy'... I tried the trout eggs and I can't say I disliked them, but I sure don't know what all the fuss is all about.
