Abel Pacheco, Roberto's father, came by on his black horse and introduced himself to us. He speaks English with a Spanish accents, but expresses himself very well. Abel's father was the president of Costa Rica from 2002 to 2006, but as I know nothing about Costa Rican politics, I have no idea whether he was liked or not. Abel mentioned that he owns two mares, which he uses for guided tours. He charges $25/person for a two-hour ride, which is a great deal! I have every intention to go on a tour myself. I'm sure I'll learn a lot about the area. Also, Isabel (different Isabel to the one we saw on Sunday), who was born in France, but has lived in Costa Rica for the last 30 years, and her husband, Urs who is originally from Switzerland, also came by to meet us today. They just came back from a month-long vacation in Europe. They stayed for a couple of hours and they shared a lot of good information about what we'll need to grow a nice, healthy, organic garden, which I'm eager to learn as much as possible. This Sunday, we've been invited to their place and they will show us their property. We look forward to that.
