![]() There is a program run by a couple in Copey (Andrea and Beto at Casa Al Revez) where volunteers from all over the world come to stay on their farm and help on projects to improve the community. Today, their group walked from Copey to Rio Blanco to repaint the outside of the school. This particular group is mainly from Australia. Before they started painting, the kids introduced themselves in English. So cute. Then the volunteers played games with the kids. The kids taught them how to play Duck, Duck, Goose... but in Spanish it's called Pato, Pato, Ganso. It was a long day in the hot sun, but the kids had a great time as did the volunteers. It was interesting to experience this day from the perspective of being part of this little community rather than as an outsider. The sense of pride I felt took me by surprise, in a good way. ![]() ![]()
